Blouse Measurement & Custom Tailoring Guide

Easy-to-follow guidelines for taking accurate blouse measurements at home for a comfortable, flattering fit.

How to Measure for Your Custom Blouse

At Iraivi Designer Studio, every custom blouse is tailored around your personal measurements. Taking accurate measurements takes only a few minutes with a flexible measuring tape.

Step 1: Bust & Upper Chest

Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back. Do not pull too tight. For upper chest, measure directly under your armpits across the top of your bust.

Step 2: Underbust & Waist

Measure directly below your bust where the blouse hem will sit. This determines the lower band circumference of your blouse.

Step 3: Shoulder Width & Armhole

Measure from the tip of one shoulder bone across the back of your neck to the opposite shoulder tip. For the armhole, measure around the crease of your arm with your arm resting naturally at your side.

Step 4: Sleeve Length & Bicep

Measure from your shoulder point down to your desired sleeve hem—whether short (5–6 inches), elbow-length (10–12 inches), or full length. Measure around the fullest part of your bicep.

Step 5: Neckline Depths

From the shoulder-neck junction, measure diagonally down to where you would like the front neckline and back neckline to end.
